Notes: None. The pier had never been one of Bam's favourite places, even when he was in England with Brighton pier. True, Brighton pier had never been that close to his house but the point still stood. One thing he'd always liked about the pier in Brighton was the food that was available. Candy floss and mini doughnuts covered in sugar were always Bam's favourite... More the doughnuts than the candy floss, though. He'd always hated the texture of candy floss... It always felt like he was trying to feed hay to himself, in his opinion... Pink, sweet hay in bags or on sticks. Not something Bam had ever found to be an attractive concept for food.
So, stuffing his face with sugar coated doughnuts, Bam wandered down the wooden slats of the pier with a warm paper bag in one hand while the other held the third sugared doughnut. His gaze moved to the sea as he moved. He was tempted to skip down the pier, but just about fought that urge with the thought that if he did then he might lose his last two doughnuts and that was unacceptable.
Sticking the doughnut into his mouth, Bam chewed happily on the food before licking the sugar off of his fingers then getting another doughnut from the bag as he stopped to look at the sea properly. He could see the beach as well, obviously, but his interest didn't lie in looking at the beach as he bit into the doughnut in his hand, it only lay in watching the waves creeping up the damp sand to whoever was on the beach. Given the fact that the sun was radiating heat down on the beach and the pier, Bam wasn't surprised that there were a lot of people down on the soft sands.
Finishing this doughnut, Bam gave a small, hint of a sigh and licked his fingers again before wiping them on his jeans to get rid of any moisture. His hoodie flapped a little in the breeze that had picked up and Bam pushed his hair out of his face as it began to tickle his features. His elbows rested on the railings of the pier while his tongue moved to pick at any doughnut left in his teeth silently.

Silently, Sebastian walked along the pier, dodging around people that got in his way easily enough. He hadn't planned on going out today but his mum had decided that he spent far too much time in the house and, basically, kicked him out for the day. So, as frustrating as it was, he had no choice but to wander around the town aimlessly until he was allowed back home. Wanting a way to waste time, he'd ended up on the pier to spend what little change he had at the arcade but it was too busy at the moment and he really didn't want to have to spend too much time in a crowded area with a bunch of people who would most likely make him want to break something. He was just about able to cope with the loud noises of the arcade but that coupled with the screams of children and ridiculously loud chatter of friends and Sebastian would have gone insane.
Coming to a stop near the end of the pier, Sebastian leant his back against the railing and watched. His eyes darted from person to person, trying to find somebody who looked like they could be interesting without much luck. Mostly, there weren't very many people just standing around. A lot of them seemed to be moving off back down the pier, some pulling along reluctant children who were starting to cry, and Sebastian was in no mood to follow those people.
Sighing, Sebastian turned and leant forward to look over the railing and down to where the beach was. It was crowded, far too crowded for him to even consider going down there, and with each passing moment he was beginning to dislike this punishment more and more. Technically, it wasn't a punishment but it sure felt like one. Pushing away from the railing, Sebastian looked around for a moment and then smirked to himself, deciding to have a little bit of fun. Focusing his thoughts, he created an image of wind beginning to batter the pier, causing bits or railing to fly off and the structure to sway unsteadly. Projecting this it into the minds of the few people that he could see, Sebastian knew it would only last a minute or so. He didn't have to the strength to pull off ellaborate illusions on a big group of people, but it would last long enough to cause at least someone to panic which was enough for him. Watching the scene play over in his mind, he rested against the railing with a smile, watching people begin to run. This was his favourite part, knowing that they were the only people that could see the illusion whilst everyone else continued as normal, as if nothing was wrong. Well, nothing was wrong, but it was easy to trick the mind into believing there was.
There was hysteria for a short moment, people desperate to get off the pier and running for cover. Sebastian watched calmly, observing the way different people reacted to the situation he'd placed them in. This was what he'd wanted to see, how people would act when there was a problem, although some might say he was doing it purely because he could. It would be a lie though, for as cruel as Sebastian was he would never do something on this scale without a reason. "Interesting," he muttered to himself, watching closely both the people who he'd projected the illusion to and the people who he hadn't.

Notes: None. Bam had barely been paying attention while the wind seemed to grow strong enough to batter the pier. He was day dreaming again, which probably wasn't helpful, but it meant that the first thing he registered was when the railing next to the one he was leaning on appeared to fall into the sea. His gaze turned to the gap that seemed to be in the railings and blinked blankly at it. That wasn't supposed to happen, he was sure of it... By the reaction that some people seemed to be giving to what was going on, Bam assumed he was right and bits of the pier weren't supposed to fall into the sea when a strong wind happened to come along.
Glancing around at everyone else while keeping a tight grip on the bag his last doughnut was in, Bam grinned before giggling. He backed away from the railings that had seemingly fallen and barked out a laugh while looking around him. Times like these, he wished he could control air instead of fire. Sure, fire could be useful to a boy like Bam who enjoyed the chaos of situations, but wind did as well... Sometimes, things were done better with air than with fire. On the other hand, he preferred fire. Fire was definitely his element, despite being a Pisces, which was a water sign.
The illusion disappeared after a minute or so, though, and Bam glanced at where he'd been stood seconds before. His lips were still turned upwards into a grin which only grew when he realised that it had all been an illusion. So, who had caused it? He knew that people with bi-polar disorder could suffer from hallucinations in extreme cases of hyper mania and depressive episodes, but he doubted that they would ever last for such a short amount of time... So who caused it?
Looking around for anyone who was particularly calm, Bam found himself somewhat irritated to find that there were a lot of people who looked calm, though most also looked somewhat puzzled. This helped a lot as anyone who knew what had happened wouldn't be looking puzzled. It wasn't so helpful that whoever it was had an arrow above their head but it certainly helped a little.
Remembering his doughnut, Bam popped it into his mouth whole and, after a moment of trouble chewing, Bam soon finished the sweet food and looked around again. He hadn't noticed the trickster yet, though had a feeling whoever had caused it was still around. He knew from personal experience that people who caused that kind of chaos wouldn't be able to just leave. They would have to watch. So who was it?

Keeping a straight face, Sebastian slipped his left hand into the pocket of his jeans and pulled out a stick of gum, placing it in his mouth. The panic looked as though it were starting to calm down and most people were beginning to look more confused than scared. Chewing on his gum, he watched as people started looking around, some looking dazed whilst others looked annoyed. He tried his best to not stand out, knowing that if someone realised it was him they'd probably be pissed. Apparently people didn't like it when you messed with their heads, although Sebastian preffered to call it experiment with their mind. They don't really like that either, though.
Studying the people carefully, Sebastian noticed a few things. There was a couple who'd huddled together near one of the buildings and were now starting to stand up, looking confused and stressed. A group of friends who had run off in separate directions, abandoning each other for their own safety, had re-grouped and were talking angrily to each other, although he wasn't sure what about. A few people who hadn't seen the illusion were helping others up, asking what had happened. Most of them looked concerned, one or two suggesting a trip to the hospital to get looked over might be a good idea. Sebastian didn't see why they were suggesting that, no-one was hurt from what he could see. Not physically, anyway.
Finally, Sebastian's eyes rested on the red haired boy. The boy who, while the illusion was happening, Sebastian was sure had been laughing. Now he looked mostly curious, not scared or confused. Sebastian definitely wasn't used to that reaction, he'd been expecting the scared and angry looks but certainly not someone who seemed as calm as the boy who, Sebastian was pretty sure, knew that a trickster had done it. He knew he couldn't get caught but and although he was curious to find out what the guy had found funny he still found himself looking down at the ground, hands in the pocket of his jeans, as he tried to make his way past the boy without being noticed. If someone pointed out what Sebastian had done he'd be in a lot of trouble which wasn't really what he needed or, for that matter, wanted.

Notes: None. Barely noticing the unobtrusive boy, Bam was still a little curious as to what had happened. His brow was pulled into a questioning frown, though he soon realised that this guy looked far too calm about the whole situation to just be some random stranger. Bam's hazel eyes fixated on the boy and the red haired teen paused for a moment before casually turning with a certain lack of grace and beginning to follow the boy.
His head was held high as he moved, his hands swinging somewhat confidently at his sides as he looked around while always keeping the boy in the corner of his eye. If he could see the boy, then Bam would be able to talk to him and find out what had happened. He didn't know too much about other species, though he knew that they had to exist, so didn't know that the boy had this ability. Bam was assuming, for the moment, that there was something connecting everyone who'd just witnessed the illusion.
Moving a little faster to get closer to the brunette, Bam bowed his head to not draw attention to himself and began jogging softly before he caught up with the other boy.
"So... What was that?" Bam asked, looking at his sleeve and pushing it up while trying to look like this guy was just a friend. There was no point in drawing attention to this boy - he looked like the kind of guy who had done well in school... Someone who wouldn't be suspected of causing a mass illusion. Making a scene wasn't going to help in this situation, Bam suspected. Even though he hated this route with things such as situations, Bam had to admit that the quieter route was probably best at the moment...
"An' how did'ja do it?" He asked, looking at the other boy with a knowing expression. Bam knew it had to be this person. It couldn't be anyone else. No. No. That was wrong. It could be someone else, but Bam doubted it. He had seen the boy before it happened, he was sure of it... Or had he? That was the trouble, Bam was finding - this boy was basically unnoticeable. He was someone that people would easily overlook. Completely unnoticeable unless attention was drawn to him... Bam was almost impressed already...

tremble little lion man Sebastian had, perhaps stupidly, assumed he'd gotten away with it. Apparently someone had noticed him, and that someone was trying to catch up with him and, annoyingly, succeeding. It had been stupid of him to do this, reckless, but he didn't always think before doing things and it had caused him a bit of trouble over the years. It was still causing him trouble now.
He could feel the persons presence beside him and finally relented, slowing down a little. Lifting his gaze from the floor, Sebastian glanced at the person in question and noticed it was the boy who'd looked a little too cheerful for someone who'd just been subjected to some sort of freak storm. "No idea. Tons of people freaking out though, guess something spooked them," Sebastian said calmly, acting like he hadn't a clue what the boy was on about. There was nothing to prove it was his fault, just a strange kid with ridiculous bright hair that was clearly just imagining things. Sebastian felt it was obvious he was in the clear.
"Do what?" Raising an eyebrow, Sebastian wondered why this boy was so interested in finding out who the trickster was. Was it really all the important to find the culprit of a simple, if not somewhat cruel, prank. "Are you implying I managed to do something to freak out all those people back there?" He laughed slightly, as if the implication were insane, and shook his head. "'Cause if so you've got the wrong guy, sorry." Sebastian wasn't the best actor, he knew that from the amount of times his parents had seen through his blaringly obvious lies, but he had hope that he was good enough to stop the questions and suspicions. For as long as he lived under his parents roof he lived by their rules and if they knew about this he was pretty sure he'd be kicked out or at the very least grounded.
"You seemed pretty amused by the whole thing though. A lot of people were pretty freaked out but you were laughing," Sebastian said after a short pause, letting his curiousity get the better of him instead of just walking away. "Seems kinda odd to me." It had surprised him, really, to see someone barely affected by the trick and it would have frustrated him endlessly if he hadn't asked and gotten so better now than never, he decided. |

Notes: None. True, he could have been wrong... If he hadn't already figured out why he couldn't possibly be wrong. Either that or he was being arrogant again. Both were possible, and quite likely. A knowing smile spread across Bam's lips as he shoved his hands into his pockets and shifted a little while fiddling with his lighter which was resting in his jeans pocket.
"I'm not wron'." He told the other boy, seeming to know exactly what he was talking about. "You had t'watch. An opportunity like that an' you ain't gonna pass it up. No chance." He hissed the last words before he heard the other boy's words. Of course he'd been laughing. Why wouldn't he? Oh, right, scary... Ha! Bam had seen worse things in Batman graphic novels. Then again, the Joker was in Batman graphic novels, so it was likely that he had seen worse.
"There weren't nothin' t'be scared of. If it were gonna fall, it were gonna fall, what's the point in goin' out scared?" He asked, shrugging casually while pressing his fingers against the items. "Though, you woul'n't be interested in that. I mean, why would you?" He asked before smirking and leaning forward a little, his voice lowering in volume. "You di'n't do it, after all." His smirk grew into a wide grin, one that could easily mimic that of the Cheshire Cat, and he snorted.
"Gotcha, Honeybutt. Best watch out for thin's that could give you away in the future. So, I'll ask again..." He paused, his grin was now not only wide but incredibly smug. "How?" Bam asked before going silent for a moment while thinking of the best way to get the other boy to spill the beans, as it were.
"Not gonna go tell anyone, that would be ridiculous given the amount o'crap I do on a daily basis an' a li'l bit hypocritical, but I'm jus' curious." He shrugged again, his grin now dropping into a look of casual, yet somewhat odd, lack of concern before the grin returned without the smugness. Bam had decided against telling the boy that he was curious because he wanted to know if the other male could be useful one day. Who knew, maybe the two could get together for a little bit of chaos... Or not. It all depended on how well they got on, truth be told...

[atrb=border, 0, true][atrb=style, background: #F9F4DE; padding: 4px; width: 400px; height: 300px; border-right: #B0CEAC 2px dotted; border-top: #B0CEAC 4px solid; border-left: #B0CEAC 2px dotted; border-bottom: #B0CEAC 4px solid;]
tremble little lion man "No, you just think you're not wrong," Sebastian corrected, sounding slightly irritated. "I just like watching people panic. It's funny. Doesn't mean I caused it." Chewing on the gum in his mouth, Sebastian considered making a distraction so he could get away from the guy. He could have thought up something, he was sure of that, even if it were just to simply create the illusion of it going from reasonably sunny to incredibly dark. Simple, almost childish, but Sebastian could walk away and not have to deal with this idiot any more. Unfortunately he was tired, that illusion had been projected for too many people and now he wouldn't be able to do another one for a little while, not without causing himself a massive headache at least.
Sebastian rolled his eyes, unsure of whether he was annoyed with the strangers curiosity or just found him annoying in general. Strictly speaking Sebastian couldn't hate him, he'd never met the guy before, but little things could piss him off especially when he was in a bad mood. "We've established I didn't do it. Brilliant. Go annoy someone else," he said, his tone clipped as he continued looking at the floor. Maybe if he didn't bother to give the stranger too much attention he'd get fed up and leave. At least that's what Sebastian was hoping would happen although he didn't have much faith in the idea, it rarely worked.
"Why do you want to know so badly?" Sebastian asked, opting to ignore what the boy had decided to call him so as not to encourage it. He could feel the beginnings of a headache forming and squeezed his eyes shut for a moment before opening them again, willing it to go away. He was hoping to be able to hold his illusions for longer, do far more impressive things with them, but it was so hard to train and practice when the end result was usually him wanting to curl up into a ball with a ton of pain killers. Being a Trickster had a few too many downsides for his liking, sometimes.
What the stranger said was enough to make Sebastian mildly curious, enough to get him to look up from the floor at least. "Oh? What sort o'crap do you do?" He asked, mimicking the boys voice in a slightly sarcastic manner. Sebastian liked people that caused problems though. Destruction was fun, even if his was only imaginary destruction, and it was rare for him to pass up the chance to get to know someone who thought the same. Then again so far the stranger had only managed to annoy him which wasn't the best first impression, he felt. |
