There was already a crowd gathering, fighting for the best spots. However the young Earth Sprite didn't mind where she sat; this was an adventure on it's own. She had never really been to an event like this before, and thus mainly came because it was so different. She had asked Melissa if she wanted to go with her, as Alice didn't really want to be by herself for something like this. After explaining that she didn't have a date to any of the times the movies were on, the young woman then went on to explain about one male whom she had been talking to recently; Gareth McKane. He was so different to the other guys she had met in various situations, and on some level he seemed to be the only one that actually understood her. Alice wouldn't have dared speak about these things to anyone besides Melissa and thus had gone on to say that she thought there might be something developing. Of course, that was all on her side of the situation, and Alice didn't believe for one second that Gary would have thought anything like that about herself.
Taking a position by a tree, Alice placed her hand on the ground and closed her eyes. Within seconds, vines began to spring from the roots of the tree and slowly climb their way up the truck and dangle from a large branch in some sort of swing. It was just big enough for two people, and that's what Alice had wanted. Picking up a handful of dirt, the young woman began sprouting roses, tulips, lilies, and other various flowers which she then intertwined the stems with the vines. More than one person had come up to her and asked her what she was doing, however Alice simply turned her head and explained that she was making a place to sit for herself and her friend. Upon turning back to her work, she tied the last flower up high and placed a rose on the bench; which she intended on giving to Melissa as a sort of thank you gesture.
Turning on her heels, Alice kicked off her ballet flats and placed them by the trunk of the tree as her eyes scanned the crowd and back towards the sky. The sunset was beautiful, magical. It was purely amazing. Reds, oranges, yellows, and other various colours splashed themselves across the sky as the sun continued it's journey downwards. Removing her eyes from the sky once more, Alice looked around the small area and saw a few people she knew. In an attempt to wave at them, she had lost her balance and fell from the swing. Landing with a soft thud, Alice closed her eyes and began to laugh. Someone had asked if she was okay, and she simply waved them off before covering her eyes with her arm. "Oh, today is not my day." PLEASE FORGIVE MY HORRIBLENESSS <3 |

She was hoping that the town would have more and more things like this for them to participate in. Perhaps they would even rake in some more tourists. She knew as well as anyone that the shops around here, all very sleepy looking, would have wanted more publicity. But from the looks of things, the town's particpants were all just as interested in the new cinema as the newcomers were.
Melissa had been intending on going regardless of whether or not she went on her own. She was going to be fine going on her own, or with a friend. She was never a fussy girl, and she was more than happy to go somewhere and meet new people. For now, however, she was going with Alice. Her good friend, and co-worker at that, had offered her an opportunity to go to the cinema with her, and Melissa had been more than happy to accept. She was having more and more fun with the Earth Sprite lately. Something, or perhaps a certain someone, had really been bringing her earthy friend to life. She had been told about a Gareth, and she thought that as long as he made Alice happy, she was okay with him. She couldn't help herself from wanting to be protective of the most innocent person she had ever met. But this Gary guy didn't seem too bad, and she had, at least, served him a few times at the shop. Not out of her own choice, however. Alice had always been too nervous to do anything but boot Melissa in his direction. She knew he was a good enough guy.
The Water Sprite was wearing clothing that she thought was the sort of clothing people expected her to wear. A blue dress, hanging down at her knees, with patterns of silver and light blue sprawled across it. Plastic tubes ran through the dress, hidden beneath pieces of material and resting between a layer of extra material, masking it perfectly. Water throbbed in those tubes, flowing around the body of the dress. Melissa wasn't a big fan of dressing up fancy, but she hadn't been able to resist the dress. It was made specifically for Water Sprites, and that was what had drawn Melissa in. A part of her felt as though she might have been over dressed, but she wanted to feel special, instead of plain and simple.
Walking through the park and towards what she assumed was her friend growing somewhere to sit, the charms she wore hung heavy against her collar bone. Decorated with bird bones and string, the miniature dream catcher was supposed to warn her of danger. It hadn't done anything like that yet, and she had to put it down to her not coming across anything dangerous in the tired town. Nearing Alice, Melissa stopped and saw her friend on the floor. Melissa's eyebrows rose, and a big grin was scribbled on her face. She waved away one of the citizens asking Alice if she was okay and crouched down beside her friend, careful to retain her dignity. "Hey Alice. What happened?" A tone of laughter was in her voice as the young woman offered a hand to her dark haired friend.[/style] |
Shall we give Mel and Alice a bit of time before Gary pops in? c:

Different people, different situations... It all basically fell ontop of her as she had landed on the ground. One thing, however, stuck in her mind and she began to think about it a little more. Would Gareth be here at the open air cinema? If he was, would he be with his own friends; and even if he was, would he talk to her outside of his or her work? Alice had only seen Gary once outside of work, and that was when she was passing by the library one day and peered into the window to look at the books that had presented themselves in the window. Her suggestion had been there and a small smile spread across her lips. Someone had actually taken her suggestion and liked it. Alice had debated on whether or not she should have entered and talked to the male, however he seemed busy with the students and thus decided to simply carry on.
Hey Alice. What happened? The words echoed through her mind as Alice slowly opened her eyes once more. She stared up at the female above her and a large grin made an appearance. "Melissa! Hello!" Pressing her hands into the ground, Alice pushed herself upwards and jumped as she stood up-right. "It's great that you could come! I couldn't find any spots free, so I used my skill and created something for us to sit on. If you don't like it, I can always change it into something else. Or we could even sit somewhere else or we could..." Alice quickly flew her hand to her mouth in order to cover it as she looked towards the ground. "I'm sorry... You know how nervous I get with new things..." She had spoken as a muffled way through her hand and looked back up. Alice motioned towards the seat with her other hand as she slowly withdrew her other from her mouth. "I even made a small place to hang our shoes if you wanted to take yours off." The young woman looked back down towards her feet as she wiggled her toes and giggled slightly.
Alice then twirled and spread her arms out as her dress spun out slightly. "I might be nervous, but it's such a beautiful night." Slowing herself down, the young woman tilted a bit to the side before gripping onto the seat for support and swinging herself onto it. Patting the seat beside her, Alice grinned up at Mel and began to swing back and forth. "Unless you'd like a more... Sturdy seat." YES YES. TIME FOR MEL AND ALICE <3 |

The girl wasn't using it, and she got up fine by herself a moment later. The Water Sprite shook her head and laughed a gentle, slightly teasing laugh. She had never known someone to be able to tumble to the ground and just lay there, careless in regard to the kind strangers offering help. Honestly, sometimes Melissa felt as though she was some sort of carer for Alice. Sometimes like she should have been chasing the petite Earth Sprite with a big net.
The enthusiasm her friend showed in springing up to a standing position often emphasised that thought.
Melissa smiled a warm smile, bringing herself to stand, too. She stood and loosely crossed her arms over her chest. It was pleasantly warm, but goosebumps still continued to raise across her milky flesh. Melissa always did have bad blood circulation. Her fingers, long and pale, rubbed the skin of her biceps in a slow movement as she watched her friend babble on with a cocked eyebrow. A smile tugged at the corners of her mouth, and soon she was trying to figure out how fast Alice could talk. Eventually her yammering came to a halt, and Melissa smiled. "Can I get a word in now, Al?" Melissa smirked, mockingly so. Melissa knew that Alice was aware of Mel's sense of humour, and while they never had any issues with it before, Melissa continued to hope that she would accidentally upset her companion. "This should be fine." Melissa said with a bright, enthusiastic smile. She tossed off her shoes, and placed them where Alice had gestured.
Moving to sit beside Alice, Melissa crossed her ankles and put her hands flat out beside her, on either side of her body. She didn't mind the gentle swinging motion, though she knew too much of it all at once could make her feel rather sick. Still, she was sure it wouldn't come to that. Tilting her head and smiling at her friend, a blonde head bobbed in agreement. "Yeah. It's predicted dry skies. Did you hear about the Water Sprites they hired to keep any rain that does fall away? Oh, and the Fire Sprites they asked to keep the place warm? They thought of everything, man." Melissa spoke eagerly about the cinema. The entire event in the town was generating so much chatter amongst people. Melissa was excited about it. As time went on, she decided to see how her friend was doing. "How was the journey? I heard about some muggers nearby." Shrugged Melissa. It was only typical. A big event was going to draw in just the wrong sort of attention as well as some of the best. She hoped her friend would be smart enough to know to not offer a mugger a seat.[/style] |
