It was unknown to the young fire sprite why she was walking down to Nether Field ruins. It was the place the school was named after. What if this place was school-ish? She didn't know. Oh, god, she hoped it wasn't. That would mean textbooks and teachers and...concentration. Ugh. Veronica shuddered at the very word. Concentration. That was so... boring. Why not let thoughts flow as free as the wind? Dance like the fires she loved to create?
The sky was beginning to redden, darkening with streaks of yellow and orange that signified dusk falling. She loved looking at the sky when it was like that. She adored those colors; so simple, and yet, so beautiful at the same time. She could sit staring at the sky forever. But she couldn't at the same time. Who would want to stare at the sky when there was so much else to do with life? She wasn't quite sure. Whoever would want to do that would have to be... off their rocker.
Hah. That made Ronnie laugh out loud, a small, tinkling laugh slicing through the slightly chilly air. Off their rocker. That was actually a better phrase to describe herself, in her mind. She knew that she wasn't normal. Nope, not even close. But she was okay with that. Normality was boring. Boring as hell. And it didn't exist. Everyone had quirks, so normality just was not real, was not tangible. It made no sense to her. At all.
She sat on one of the crumbled rocks forming the ruins, dusting off her red jeans and staring at her black sneakers. Ugh. Okay. She was already getting bored, and she'd been here for 30 seconds. So far, Honey Tree was not appealing to her in the slightest. She went to the school, had her first day that day, and the kids seemed nice enough. But, oh god, weren't they ordinary. None really stood out to her. So, yes, she decided that she would do the standing out to others.
But, anyway, back to the present. She'd brought her backpack, god knows why, and knew she had homework. But, ugh, homework? When she could be exploring? The damn teacher could screw their homework. She was too bored for homework, too unfocused. She needed a distraction. And a good one.
She grinned, a mischievous glint in her eyes as she lifted her fingers and rubbed them together a few times. And there it was. The small, warm flame dancing off of the tips of her fingers. She wasn't allowed to do this at school. At least, she wasn't aware if she was. So being able to do this now was epically cool. Her grin widened as she let the flame spread over her hand, warming her skin and sending excited shivers through her spine. She loved this. She really did.

Well, he hadn't actually looked very far but he couldn't be bothered with all of that so, instead, he was going to go somewhere and find random people to annoy. And today he was going to target Nether Field Ruins. It didn't really sound like much fun there but it was about the only place in Honey Tree that he hadn't visited before now. It was a little chilly outside now too but, oh well, he was a fire sprite. Coldness was rarely an issue. As long as it didn't rain, Brent would be fine.
Upon reaching what he assumed to be the ruins (he'd only gotten here by forcing directions out of people he bumped into) Brent spotted a girl was also around. She had to be a fire sprite too! Soon, he was beaming and had a fireball in each hand.
Wiping the beam off his face, the sprite leapt out from behind a ruin-y thing and adopted a ninja-ish stance. "Aha, I see you there, a fellow ninja of fiiiyaaah!" he deadpanned then began ninja-ing around a little before sending the fireballs off in opposite directions to each other. They were probably going to set something on fire but not anything near enough to hurt either of the 'ninjas of fire'. [/style] TAG: Verruca! NOTES: asdfghjkl dork OUTFIT: clicky! |

The flame haired young woman was just sat, not a care in the world, flicking flames about in her hands, admiring the flickering orange beauty in her palms. She didn't get why some people didn't like fire; It was insane. Well. Even more insane than some other things Ronnie could mention. It was just too beautiful and captivating to be an object of hatred. Yes, she knew it could be dangerous. But so what? She was just having fun.
But just then, oh god, what awesome was befalling her now? Normal people would have jumped out of their skin at the sight of a complete stranger coming up to them and being as crazy as this man was being, but Ronnie? Psh. Nope. No way. Her signature, mischievous grin spread over her face, and she stood up as he began dancing around in a ninja-like fashion. Why weren't people like this at her school? Wouldn't that make life so much more fun?
She mimicked the man, standing tall and proud just in front of him, a completely deadpan expression blanketing her grin. "I would not refer to myself as a ninja of fiiiyaaah just yet," she said, a serious tone in her voice. "However, I am always ready and willing to learn, oh powerful sensei!"
In a flash, she was leaping around, in a strange kind of dance, her feet brushing the ground and yet not touching it at the same time. She jumped forward, quickly, to catch a burning fireball that the man had just sent flying in an odd direction. Her feet landed back on the ground, and she smiled, tossing the fireball in the direction of the dude. She had a feeling that tonight would be more fun than she first thought it would be.

She was clearly someone to go down in his mental list of awesome people, fairly near the top too. (Oh, and she'd called him 'sensei' too, that earned her extra awesome points. The first ever awesome points he'd ever awarded to anybody too; which may or may not have been because they'd only just been invented but nyeh...) It was really difficult to keep his expression blank, so Brent settled for a slight smirk. He was a cool smirking sensei. Yeah. "And learn you shall, young one."
He was surprised further when the other sprite ninja'd over to one of the fireballs he'd just thrown and caught it. That earn her more awesome points because that had been some truly epic ninja'ing. Brent really couldn't stop himself from breaking out into a wide grin. It seemed he was wrong when he'd realised that his old dreams of growing up to be a ninja would never come true.
Brent jumped up and caught the fireball quite easily before sending it back to the girl with as much force as he could manage, which was quite a considerable amount. He wasn't out of practise when it came to controlling fire. [/style] TAG: Verruca! NOTES: asdfghjkl dork OUTFIT: clicky! |
