He had slept until he couldn't possibly sleep anymore. He had woke up and made himself a nice big breakfast, went and played the drums a little bit because he could, and was now laying on the couch with the television on, but he wasn't paying much attention to it. He had a new book open that he had just got from the library and wanted to read. The Stranger. It was good so far. He was only about halfway through and that was what he had done today alone. He didn't know what time it was at the moment, but he didn't exactly care. He had off. He didn't have plans. It was the perfect lazy day.
He put the book down on the coffee table, that was actually quite clean still, and went into the kitchen. He made himself a quick sandwich since it had been quite a bit since breakfast and put it on a plate with some chips. He grabbed himself a can of pop and went back to sit down, crossing his legs on the couch and putting the plate in his lap and changing the television to some sappy Christmas movie on lifetime. They were so predictable, but they got Chase every time.

★★★★★ Leonard found himself in front of what might possibly be his older, long-lost (well, didn't that just sound like something out of a silly family movie) brother's house with a relatively large duffel bag by his side. After a while of hesitation, he knocked on the door, deciding that whatever was meant to be was going to happen, and just hoped that at least his brother might be a kind enough soul to take him in. Or that he was at the right house, because if he were at the wrong one, that might prove to be a tad awkward.
Nervous and hopeful, he started to think of what on earth he was going to tell his older brother, one... Chase Michael Jackson? that he suddenly had a younger brother and ask whether it'd be okay if they lived together. Hi, are you Chase Jackson? I'm Leonard Scott, and I'm your long-lost younger brother. Can I come in? No, that sounded like he was being too quick with telling the guy and like it might result in a bad reaction. Are you Chase?, maybe, but that had the possibility of sounding slightly strange and stalker-ish. Although if a stalker had to ask their target whether or not they were them, they weren't a particularly great stalker. And now he was just digressing. Hello, my name's Leonard Scott, and I'm your brother. But what if it wasn't even Chase at the door?
He let out a little groan and squirmed a little, hoping that the owner of the house would answer the door soon.

He wasn't expecting anyone to knock, so he didn't know who it could possibly be. His face scrunched up in confusion and he slowly got up, putting his plate and drink on the coffee table as he walked to the door to get it. He opened it to see a smaller boy standing there. Chase had never seen him before. He looked nice enough. Nothing to be afraid of, surely. Chase gave the boy a small sort of smile, still questioning what the boy was doing here. "Hey? Can I help you?"
Chase asked the dude, he looked a bit nervous to be honest, and Chase wasn't sure why. It made him wonder. He couldn't help but feel a bit depressed at the fact that it wasn't Brent at the door. He liked hanging out with Brent. Chase also tried to not think about the fact he wanted it to be Brent and not Bree, his supposed girlfriend. He didn't like Brent like that, he was just his friend. Bree was supposed to be more, yet she wasn't. Chase felt bad, but couldn't help the fact he was completely gay. So sue him. [/div] STARRING: | OUTFIT: Clicky| NOTES: |

★★★★★ When a 20-something year old man opened the door, Leonard was had to look up to be able to see his face-- damn, either this guy was tall, or he was just unnaturally short. Plus, Leonard had been playing with his fingers just before the man had answered the door and it made him feel rather embarrassed to be caught doing something so childish. Still, despite his self-professed hatred for looking childish, he pouted a little, trying to think of the best way to break the news to this man.
"Are you Chase Michael Jackson?" he asked, bouncing from foot to foot. "I'm Leonard Scott." Leonard tried to force a smile, but he thought it probably came off more nervous-looking than anything. Shit, this was going to result in a really awkward conversation and he didn't exactly want to be the one telling Chase that a younger brother had just popped out of nowhere.

Sure, he was at his apartment and everything... so obviously the dude would have to know who he was to some degree. He had said his middle name too though. Chase didn't think that was normal. His face was pushed into more confusion than before and he wasn't exactly sure what to say to that. He supposed a 'yes I'm him' would probably be a good place to start. "Yeah... this is him."
Chase told him, studying the young boy carefully. He was pretty sure the dude was nervous, although Chase wasn't sure why and he didn't know if he liked that fact. It wasn't a good thing if someone showed up at your door with a nervous look on his face and knew your first, middle, and last name. Did Chase invite him in? Did he ask what he was doing here? Did he... do something else? Chase wasn't sure and he might have been freaking. Might. He didn't like this. It made him feel uncomfortable. Scared. He really wished it was Brent now. Brent wouldn't have had a nervous smile on his face. He would have just came in. "Nice to meet you?" Chase muttered but it came off more like a question than a statement. ★★★★★ When the guy-- oh well, better just start calling him by his real name, so... when Chase-- said that yes, he was... well, himself, and that it was nice to meet Leonard, Leonard stuck his hands in his pockets and looked around, wanting more than anything to get away. But, well, he couldn't, unless he liked the idea of becoming a hobo or getting put into the system. He sighed. Why was his life so full of shit?
"Nice to meet you too," Leonard grimaced, because it was obviously not all that nice having to randomly meet his random older brother who was RANDOM. RANDOMLY. Ugh. "Sooooo. Hi. You're probably wondering what I'm doing here," he said, feeling increasingly awkward by the nanosecond. Fuck life. "I'm your long-lost younger brother and my family died so I thought maybe I could come live with you hi?" he said, letting out an awkward little laugh at the end. "I don't really have anywhere else to go. See, there's my stuff." And he pointed down to his duffel bag, which actually looked pretty damn pathetic for something that was holding all his stuff. Oh, well.
"Can I come in?"

He waited until the dude, Leonard?, actually talked and sort of wish he hadn't been home. He was... his brother? That wasn't possible. Okay, so Chase knew it actually was. He hadn't bothered looking up his real parents. He figured if they didn't want him when he was younger, then they didn't deserve to get him when he was older. But a brother? It wasn't like he had anything to do with it. He was younger... he wasn't even in the picture yet. Chase wouldn't blame him. What if he wasn't telling the truth? What if he was.
Chase realized he was kind of lost in his own head for a bit before he shook his head and looked at the guy. His... younger brother? "O-of course. C-come in."
And cue the stuttering. Chase hated that when he got nervous or scared he tended to stutter. He stepped aside and stood awkwardly at the door. "Do you want anything?" Chase asked slowly so he didn't stutter. He was here to live with him... Chase.... wasn't fit to take care of anyone? This wasn't good. Okay, so maybe he was fine to take care of someone. He had been on his own for most of his life. His house was always clean, there was always food in the fridge, his clothes were always washed. Everything was fine... but to have someone he didn't know come and live with him? That would be weird. Yet he couldn't just send the kid away if he had no where else to go. ★★★★★ Leonard offered Chase a weak smile and entered the house, dumping his bag in the corner by the door for convenience's sake. If Chase was okay with them living together, he'd find some time to slowly unpack. "Sorry, I guess this must all be really sudden for you," he grimaced, slightly apologetic but not really. There wasn't much of a point for him to be apologetic over something he had no control over. "And I'm fine, thanks..."
He sighed, looking quite firmly at the floor and not really wanting to look at anything else. This was going to be waaay more awkward than he had predicted-- mostly because he hadn't expected Chase to invite him into his house at all, but to force him out and away from him over instead-- and he didn't even know how to start on the topic of siblingship and living together now. Christ. Now what was he to do?
"If you aren't okay with having me here, I'm sure that I could find some other means of accomodation,"-- no he couldn't-- "and if you actually are okay with me living here, I'll take care of myself and do chores, stuff like that? I've been taking care of myself for some time now so I don't think I'll be of too much trouble. I can pay for my own stuff, too-- I'll take up side jobs to pay for school and other things that I might need. I'll try to trouble you as little as possible." It wasn't that he thought Chase was incapable of taking care of him or anything, but more of the fact that he'd been independent for so long that he could hardly bear the thought of not being able to take care of himself. He just needed a place to stay, is all. Nothing else-- although if he could actually have a proper brotherly relationship with Chase, that'd be nice, too.

He had lost his family and was orphaned. Whether that family was Chase's real family or not didn't matter. What mattered was the fact that he was alone and Chase felt bad for him. He knew what it was like to be alone. He knew how it felt to have no one and be forced to live by yourself. He wouldn't turn away someone when he knew he could help. "N-No.. Don't... that's not. Uhm."
Chase stuttered again, unable to find the right words for what he was thinking. Whatever that even was. He took a deep breath. Trying to calm his nerves down. Why he was so nervous was a mystery. Maybe because he felt... weird. It felt weird to think he had other family out there. "How'd you find me? I mean... it's not like I've ever contacted my real family. I knew I was adopted... but I never cared enough to look into it. I figured they didn't want me, so I didn't want them." Chase rambled, not really sure what he was talking about. "I'm not going to send you away if you don't have anywhere else to go. You can stay here." Chase told him. Not sure if that was the best decision to make right away... but he made it. [/div] STARRING: | OUTFIT: Clicky| NOTES: |

★★★★★ Chase, Leonard had noticed, kept on stuttering. He didn't really mind it-- in fact, it was relatively endearing-- but what it meant for Leonard (and his chances of getting a place to stay) was unknown. Was Chase uncomfortable with Leonard's presence? Leonard would certainly feel uncomfortable if some random kid just popped up and proclaimed that they were siblings, and, hey, they were going to live together from now on. Perhaps Leonard should have approached this matter in a different way.
He grinned, though, when Chase asked about the adoption-real-family matter. Would Chase believe it if Leonard had once been so desperate to find a family who was there for him that he had dug really deeply into his past (and there might have been some stealing of some files which were about him anyway, so it wasn't really stealing, damnit) and discovered that he had an older brother? But it didn't really matter, because this was, quite obviously, the first time that Leonard had made an effort to contact Chase. Mostly because he had more than enough on his plate than to try and discover his mystery older brother's email address and begin a correspondance or anything, but also because since their parents had done... well, what they had done, would Chase want to be reminded of his sordid past in the form of a younger brother? No, because if it were Len, he definitely wouldn't wan that. Still, he settled on an answer with a simple "I asked around," and left it at that. Hopefully Chase wouldn't bother to pry.
Then his older brother agreed to let him stay with him, and that was a miracle in itself. Oh thank God. He was pretty sure that he had to go live with a random hobo guy if Chase hadn't been willing to take him in. "Really?" he'd asked, disbelieving. But, well, that might give Chase a chance for take-backs and no take-backs were allowed, thankyouverymuch. "Thanks!" YAY HE WASN'T GOING TO DIE A MISERABLE DEATH. Although that might have been exaggerating a little bit.

Chase wasn't sure that could give him the answer that his brother, who he couldn't have known about, was living where he was. That he was old enough to move in with. Chase didn't know if he should ask more or not. The kid had obviously been through some kind of shit recently. "Well... Alright. I'll leave it at that I guess."
There didn't seem like there was any doubt in his mind that Chase was in fact his brother, so Chase supposed he would just have to deal with it. He knew there was a possibility that he could have a brother. Why did it seem so weird to him. He looked so excited when Chase had told him he could stay... there was no way he wasn't. No way he was lying. "Do you need anything? Like... food?" Chase didn't know when he had ate last. Didn't know anything really. He felt awkward and didn't know what to do. "How old are you anyways? And... are you a sprite? or?" Chase asked, shaking his head slightly. He had so many questions, and he didn't see the harm in asking. "O-our p-parents? They're dead? H-how... What were they? Were they... nice?" Chase wanted to know if he got that bad life. He wanted to know what his real parents were like. What his real dad was like. He couldn't imagine he was worse than his adopted dad. [/div] STARRING: | OUTFIT: Clicky| NOTES: |
