TRICKSTER. ALEC. TWENTY-TWO. HAIR STYLIST. AALIYAH.

Describe yourself.
Well, let's start off with the vague questions, shall we?
I guess I should start with my name. It's Alec -
Alec?
Yes, Alec. It was a nickname from middle school. Some friends and I talked about what we would be like and named if we were male. Alec just kind of stuck after that.
Anyway, I am twenty-two. Recently, actually. But that's besides the point. I was born and raised in Honey Tree and had a pretty normal childhood. I have an older brother, but I don't know what he's doing. We don't talk that much.
Why not?
My parents disowned him and expected me to go along with the idea. They lost the ability to control me when I turned eighteen and I started talking to him. I don't know what he was disowned for. I was too young to understand and I've never asked him. Don't know if it'll be a sore spot.
I have been described as... I guess nice? Well, at least some people say that. I'm not mean to anyone without them giving me a reason to be, anyway. I haven't noticed it myself but several friends have said I'm rather sassy and sarcastic. I'm starting to think I do it without realizing it. Makes a lot of sense.
This is a harder question than you realize. Do you know how hard it is to describe yourself to someone?
Anyway, I'm honest. The blunt kind of honest. I won't spare any feelings unless I really, really, really like you. I guess I'm kind of sick and tired of people trying to water everything down for each other. We don't need that. If someone wants to know something, they should be prepared for whatever it is. I'd also say I'm a little bit mischievous.
Tell me about your parents.
I talked about them all the way up there. Why didn't you interrupt then?
My parents... they're parents. What else is there? Both of them have Indian backgrounds and I mean the Indian from India. Stupid Columbus. My mom's fascinated with those sites that'll check your ancestry. That's why my middle name is Isis; apparently we have some Egyptian in us. And my mother liked the name.
They're... a little old fashioned, which might be what made them disown my brother. Or so I'm guessing, because we both have a little bit of a rebellious nature. My parents are the ones who go to church an hour early, stay an hour after the service is over, and when they get home they call everyone they didn't see to ask why they weren't there. I get a call almost every week.
You're not religious?
Not at all. Well, that's a bit of a lie. I am a little bit. But in the way that's... I don't know. Christianity doesn't seem right for me and I keep trying to make the time to look at other things, but so far no time or luck. Maybe I'm just picky.
How else are your parents old fashioned, then? It seems like you were leaving something out.
They're not open to... anything other than heterosexuality. Which would be fine if they didn't shove it down everyone's throat. They just take everything they believe in and try to make everyone believe it the exact way they do. Since I'm their "beautiful" daughter, I get quite a few lectures. Especially about some of the stuff I wear. I would be experimenting all over the place -- especially with girls -- but I don't want my parents to see or hear about it. I would never be allowed out of their sight.
Trust me, I never got "the talk". I got the "you better not have sex before marriage or you'll disgrace us forever" when I was fourteen.
So, why did you become a hair stylist?
Honestly? To listen to the gossip. I like being on top of the things happening, and it seems everyone talks to their hair stylist. And, well, how my trickster abilities work make me really good at helping people find hair that looks good on them. I have to be able to imagine something to make it an illusion. It just seemed like a good choice and I haven't grown tired of it yet.
So what are some things you like?
I love ice cream. Love it. I think I go through more ice cream than actual food. No, wait, that was an exaggeration. I eat well. I also really like fashion. Not in the "omg this just came out and it's so cute" or "wow this celebrity wore this? I need it!" way, but I do like to see what people are wearing and how it looks. I usually just wear what I like because the main thing about clothes is that they're for you. As long as you feel powerful and beautiful in them, then they're serving their purpose. I like playing video games. My favorite has to be Skyrim.
I like animals. I volunteer and donate to a few different organizations that take care of them. Not PETA, though. I can't stand PETA. They remind me of my parents in organization form.
I like having fun, the outdoors, having friends to talk to, reading... I like a lot of things. I try new things all the time. What's life if you're not going to experiment?
And now name some things you dislike.
Idiots, PETA, arrogance. There is a difference between arrogance and confidence, boys. Learn it. I don't like being alone. I don't like the dark. I hate the dark. It makes me uneasy. I don't like people who think it's their goal to convert everyone to something. I wouldn't say I dislike them, but people who don't like to try things or exit their comfort zones are a little dull.
This is hard. There's not much I actually dislike.
So, anything else you want to mention? Any significant others, hobbies, pets...?
I didn't want to mention anything to begin with. No significant others, in any form. Haven't been looking recently. Guess I've been too distracted. No pets.
And hobbies? You're really trying to ask me about hobbies at the very end? No way, you've used enough of my time. I have things to do and people to see.
