alec isn't afraid of who she is. she doesn't act different around different people. she simply is. she's confident because she knows she won't change for other people. she refuses. the sassiness and sarcasm isn't a defense mechanism; it's her sense of humor. she doesn't even realize she's doing it half the time, which is probably the fun of it. her honest and blunt nature is just because she would like the same told to her; she doesn't like it when people beat around the bush for serious matters or try to water things down. it doesn't seem right to her. if you ask, you better be prepared for the answer, good or bad. she's nice, too, though that might be a bit on the subjective side. she treats everyone the way she's like to be treated and is generally friendly. she respects everyone, no matter their age, and likes hearing every side of the story.

positive relations:

if there's one thing about her, it's that she likes to have friends. she enjoys to have people to go out and party with or gossip with or to simply talk to. dragging people along with her whenever she had the bug to do something new or different is common. she's there for her friends. one of her favorite things to do is just sit and listen to any of her friends rant and rave about their problems, because she wants to be there. she may not be the best at advice to help these problems, but she does what she can and she's pretty sure that's all that matters.

she's dated. against her parent's wishes, but there isn't much you can do to stop a twenty-two year old from doing what she wants. most of her relationships weren't anything special. she doesn't exactly go out and look for partners; more, the romantic interest usually evolves from friendship.
she would say she's romantic, just a different kind of romantic. fancy dinners are all fine and good, but she'd like something that's more her or even just a little bit different. she's into cute couple stuff and any guy who actually remembers her favorite flowers (yellow roses and blue cornflowers) is an instant keeper.

negative relations:

alec isn't one for enemies. sure, there are people she dislikes or just doesn't want to talk to, but she's not one for full blown hate. it just isn't her style and she always tries to find some redeeming quality in everyone. even if she doesn't like talking to them.
she usually dislikes narrow-minded people. it's something she grew up with and doesn't want to hang around people who are the same. she also really dislikes people who are unnecessarily cruel and mean to others and has a special type of dislike for people who think their beliefs are superior. arrogance, while annoying, is something she can live with.

Melissa and Alison

I reckon that Melissa would be pretty intimidated by Alec. Mel is a year younger than her, and has suffered from severe anxiety for all of her life. I think that while they could be friends, Melissa would always feel slightly intimidated by her. Perhaps being friends with Alec could open her up to be a bit louder and a bit more of a person. But I'm really not sure about these two, so any ideas you have would be great.

Felix and Alison

Alec would frighten Felix so bad. He's a quiet kid, and Alison would be able to snap him out of that with her 'sassy' ways. He'd be a little shocked, because he's not used to people talking to him like that at all, so perhaps there's a slight dislike between them? Maybe he dislikes her for being able to tell him what he assumes people would never say to him? :L I have no idea.

Gareth and Alison

I doubt that these two would ever meet. Alec seems like the type of person that would be really social, and that's the complete opposite of Gary.

If they did ever meet, I'm not sure how well they'll both get on. Errrrm.. Yeah, I'm completely and utterly stumped. :c I'm sorry. Do you have any ideas?

from what you've described and what i've read, i could see some sort of sisterly relationship forming between the two. alec would definitely take melissa under her wing and try to gently shove her into the world. or not so gently, since it is alec.

i think their relationship would be a complicated one. alec would definitely see his shell as something he needed to get over, but i don't think she would be overly blunt about that. or, at least, she would try to be tactful so he doesn't go further into it. she'd be fine with him until she saw what was under that shell, since she'd try to make judgement after talking to the unguarded him.
he, however, i don't think so. he has a more reserved nature and, like you said, she would probably be saying quite a bit that he'd be uncomfortable with.

don't apologize. xD i have a hard time thinking of some of these too. trust me i am questioning whether i'm going out on a limb with some of these.

i actually have an idea for these two, though! you say he frequents the internet. i was thinking they could be members on some forum together and start talking that way. as in, under more or less anonymous names and as such have no idea they live anywhere close to each other. after chatting for awhile they share links to their blogs/youtubes/whatevers so they can harass each other talk in other places.
if they do meet, it could be her seeing him trying to make a youtube video or something and she offers to help because, hey, she has nothing important and he looks like they could use a hand. she questions him a bit about it, he tells her where to find his videos, and she just kind of... looks at him.
cue her telling him they know each other and awkward real life friendship begins.

I like how your brain works, because your ideas sound wonderful. Felix does need someone to help him a bit, even though he thinks otherwise.I could see him being a little uneasy towards talking to her, but while he was guarded and she didn't show any signs of judging him straight off the bat I could see him slowly getting more comfortable around her. He'd let his guard drop and then I imagine she'd see who he really is and then the shit hits the fan? :L

Alison and Aphrodite
These two wouldn't get on. At all. I can see them being straight out enemies. Well in Aphrodite's eyes they would be enemies, in Alison's, they'd probably be a really big dislike. Their personalities would clash like nobodies business and would end up with them arguing whenever they meeting and would end up screaming at each other. Well Aphrodite would at least. Seeing as Aphrodite can be cruel for no reason other than her own brand of 'fun', this would probably tick Alison off. That combined with various other things would make their relationship like a time bomb waiting to go off.

Any thoughts or ideas?
