Notes: None. Ducks had always been some of Bam's favourite creatures other than dragons. There was no question that, when there was a choice between ducks and dragons, dragons would always win. For starters, they were normally larger than ducks, and for second they could breath fire. Anything after that was a plus for them. But, out of the creatures that existed, ducks were one of Bam's favourite.
That had been the original reason for Bam coming to the duck pond today. Instead of his usual reason of needing somewhere to go that didn't have any family members there, Bam actually wanted to see the ducks. He'd even bought a loaf of sliced bread from one of the shops he'd passed on the way here for the ducks. The bread had been shared, as it happened, between Bam and the ducks. For each slice Bam had, the ducks got two that were pulled apart to give the ducks more of a chance to eat it.
Once the bread had been finished, though, Bam had gotten bored and began playing with the lighter he kept in his pocket. He didn't normally bother to use it, but today he was in public and a small voice at the back of his mind - the voice of logic, probably - told him not to draw too much attention to himself... That hadn't lasted long as he began to draw the flame of the lighter up and began twisting it into shapes in the air. He wasn't amazing at it, but it was better than watching the ducks swimming in circles - and that really was boring.
Flicking his finger tips into the air, Bam watched as the fire did a little jump then flickered back in its resting place. His lips pulled into a grin and, now concentrating, Bam began trying to see if he could make the fire larger. He really wanted to do it. He'd never been able to before, which had always annoyed him, but seeing as he'd just managed to make it jump, he thought that he might have a better chance of it...

[/div] if i didn't have you, If you were to tilt you head upwards slightly when facing the North side of the duck pond, you would spot a rather large tree with many perfect branches to perch someone on. That's where the fun part would come in. If you were to look closely, you would actually notice that a young woman had indeed perched herself on one of the branches up there. Alice Rose Mournet, an Earth Sprite whom loved nature and everything about it. She had been up there since the early AM; simply sitting and watching as nature swirled and danced around her.
Looking down towards the ground, Alice noticed a blob of red hair moving passed her tree and her lips curled upwards slightly into a small smile. Bam had come to feed the ducks. Sure, she was still angry at him for the time he set her small sapling on fire, but if he was simply coming down to feed the ducks then he couldn't be all bad, could he?
Pursing her lips together in a straight line, Alice argued with herself on whether or not to jump down and surprise him, warn him about jumping down, or simply remaining in her spot and observing him from a distance. Going with the former of her choices, Alice leapt from her tree and landed on the ground with a soft thud. Plucking a piece of grass from the ground, the young woman twirled once in place - allowing her red dress to fan around her like some sort of dancer - before she presented the blade of grass to Bam. Only, it had now turned into deep, red coloured daffodil and she bowed before stretching out her arm to present the flower. "A beautiful, strange flower for a.... Strange gentleman."
Laughing a little at her words, Alice moved to perch herself on the bench next to Bam and watched as he began to manipulate the fire. "Even though I've had trouble with fire in the past, I still find it fascinating..." Sometimes, the young woman actually wanted to be a Fire Sprite. It was so daring and so amazing how they could work the fire to bend at their will. She just wanted to reach out, take a spark, and become one. But she couldn't. Alice was an Earth Sprite - one that not very many people enjoyed to be around. But, she loved who she was and that was all that mattered. notes: none

Notes: I'm not even sorry for that last bit of speech. Bam hadn't noticed the girl landing on the ground, having been playing with his lighter a little bit by then and didn't bother to look up when she spoke with the flower for a moment before she spoke again. Bam looked at her, looked at the flower as though uncertain as to whether or not to take it before doing so, and nodded along. She seemed familiar to him, but he couldn't remember where from... Brushing the idea that he'd seen her before out of his mind, Bam blew the flickering flame out while twirling the flower between his thumb and his index finger and glanced at her.
"Who're you?" The way Bam spoke was rather blunt, though he wasn't interested in making it polite sounding. What would he want to do that for? It would take all the fun out of life. "I can't remember if I've seen you before, see." He grinned, though it was more of a childish, cheeky grin than an intentionally friendly one. That wasn't to say that it couldn't seem friendly, given that grins usually did seem friendly, but merely that it wasn't something that Bam was doing on purpose.
His lips pulled into a wider grin while he watched her before he heard a quack and turned his head to look at the ducks again. He'd almost forgotten about them, weirdly... Or not, given that this was Bam and he tended to forget a lot of things very often...
Playing with his lighter again after hooking his flower behind his ear like someone might do with a pen or pencil, Bam pursed his lips as he flicked the flame to life and began trying to manipulate it some more while listening to her for her answer to his previous question. While he was concentrating, his tongue poked out from between his now relaxed lips and he narrowed his eyes. Why wouldn't it just grow?! His teeth bit down on his tongue a little while he watched the flame and grinned when it began to grow. It was only a little bit bigger but enough that Bam felt pride beginning to swell inside his chest.
With a straight back and a wide grin on his features, Bam looked up at the girl almost as if expecting praise. Why he'd think he'd get praise was beyond even him as he slowly began to remember her, but he still tried for some anyway...
"Lookit!" He all but demanded and shoved the lighter towards her, the slightly bigger flame dancing naturally on its resting spot while Bam beamed at it. "S'bigger." He told her in case she didn't see it and added in a low voice before he could stop himself: "Like sum'p else that grows if you give it enough attention."
